Il a soulign\u00e9 que le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s techniques est indispensable pour produire des services m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et climatiques de qualit\u00e9, capables de soutenir efficacement les politiques de r\u00e9duction des risques de catastrophes et de contribuer \u00e0 la protection des populations.<\/p>\n<p>Cette formation intervient un an apr\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re session organis\u00e9e \u00e0 Yaound\u00e9 dans le cadre du projet CREWS, intitul\u00e9e <strong>\u00ab Central Africa Synoptic Training on Short- and Medium-Range Forecasting and Development of Regional Guidance Products \u00bb<\/strong>, tenue du <strong>30 juin au 4 juillet 2025<\/strong>. En b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d&#8217;un deuxi\u00e8me programme r\u00e9gional de renforcement des capacit\u00e9s en l&#8217;espace de deux ans, le Cameroun confirme la confiance que lui accordent l&#8217;OMM et ses partenaires techniques, tout en consolidant son r\u00f4le de plateforme r\u00e9gionale de d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences en m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie op\u00e9rationnelle.<\/p>\n<p>La formation a r\u00e9uni 23 pr\u00e9visionnistes du <strong>Centre R\u00e9gional de Pr\u00e9vision Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e (RFSC) de Yaound\u00e9<\/strong>, du <strong>Centre d&#8217;Application et de Pr\u00e9vision Climatique pour l&#8217;Afrique Centrale (CAPC-AC)<\/strong> de Douala ainsi que les sp\u00e9cialistes de l&#8217;<strong>ASECNA Cameroun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5316 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31-16x12.jpeg 16w, https:\/\/meteocameroon.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-07-03-at-16.48.31.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Durant cinq jours, les participants ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 d&#8217;un encadrement assur\u00e9 par deux experts de <strong>M\u00e9t\u00e9o-France<\/strong>, consultants aupr\u00e8s de l&#8217;Organisation m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique mondiale, <strong>Messieurs Thierry Lefort et Philippe Peyrill\u00e9<\/strong>. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur expertise reconnue en pr\u00e9vision num\u00e9rique, pr\u00e9vision synoptique et pr\u00e9vision int\u00e9gr\u00e9e, ils ont accompagn\u00e9 les participants dans l&#8217;utilisation des outils et m\u00e9thodes les plus r\u00e9cents destin\u00e9s \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des pr\u00e9visions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques.<\/p>\n<p>Les travaux ont port\u00e9 sur la ma\u00eetrise des concepts physiques de base, l&#8217;exploitation des produits innovants <strong>MISVA (Monitoring and Forecast of Intra-Seasonal Variability)<\/strong> ainsi que sur le d\u00e9veloppement de produits r\u00e9gionaux d&#8217;orientation permettant d&#8217;assurer une continuit\u00e9 entre les pr\u00e9visions \u00e0 courte \u00e9ch\u00e9ance, \u00e0 moyenne \u00e9ch\u00e9ance et les pr\u00e9visions subsaisonni\u00e8res. Cette approche dite de <strong>Pr\u00e9vision int\u00e9gr\u00e9e (Seamless Prediction)<\/strong> repr\u00e9sente aujourd&#8217;hui une \u00e9volution majeure de la m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie op\u00e9rationnelle en favorisant une meilleure anticipation des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques \u00e0 fort impact.<\/p>\n<p>Au terme de cette formation, les experts du CAPC-AC sont d\u00e9sormais mieux outill\u00e9s pour exploiter les produits MISVA et \u00e9laborer des produits r\u00e9gionaux d&#8217;orientation couvrant les semaines S1 \u00e0 S4 destin\u00e9s aux pr\u00e9visionnistes d&#8217;Afrique centrale. Les pr\u00e9visionnistes du RFSC de Yaound\u00e9, quant \u00e0 eux, renforceront leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 int\u00e9grer ces orientations r\u00e9gionales dans les pr\u00e9visions nationales, \u00e0 mieux anticiper les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle synoptique et \u00e0 produire des orientations m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques plus performantes au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des Services m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et hydrologiques nationaux de la sous-r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 du perfectionnement des comp\u00e9tences techniques, cette initiative r\u00e9pond \u00e0 un objectif strat\u00e9gique : am\u00e9liorer durablement la qualit\u00e9 des services m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et climatiques fournis aux gouvernements, aux services de protection civile, aux secteurs sensibles tels que l&#8217;agriculture, les transports, l&#8217;aviation, la gestion des ressources en eau, l&#8217;\u00e9nergie ainsi qu&#8217;aux populations. Des pr\u00e9visions plus pr\u00e9cises et des alertes plus pr\u00e9coces permettront une meilleure anticipation des risques, une prise de d\u00e9cision plus efficace et une r\u00e9duction des pertes humaines et \u00e9conomiques li\u00e9es aux catastrophes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9changes entre les participants ont \u00e9galement permis d&#8217;identifier plusieurs pistes d&#8217;am\u00e9lioration de la coop\u00e9ration r\u00e9gionale. Parmi les principales recommandations figure le renforcement de la collaboration technique entre le <strong>CAPC-AC<\/strong> de Douala et le <strong>RFSC<\/strong> de Yaound\u00e9 afin d&#8217;optimiser la production et le partage des produits r\u00e9gionaux d&#8217;orientation, d&#8217;harmoniser les m\u00e9thodes de pr\u00e9vision et de renforcer les m\u00e9canismes d&#8217;assistance technique au profit des Services m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et hydrologiques nationaux d&#8217;Afrique centrale. Les participants ont \u00e9galement insist\u00e9 sur la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de poursuivre les formations sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es et de consolider le partage des donn\u00e9es et des outils innovants afin d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer la fourniture des services m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques dans l&#8217;ensemble de la sous-r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p>Cette formation s&#8217;inscrit pleinement dans la strat\u00e9gie de modernisation engag\u00e9e par le gouvernement du Cameroun, qui poursuit ses investissements dans les infrastructures d&#8217;observation, les technologies num\u00e9riques et le d\u00e9veloppement des ressources humaines. Il accompagne \u00e9galement l&#8217;ambition du DMN de devenir un <strong>Centre m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique r\u00e9gional sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 (CMRS)<\/strong> de l&#8217;Organisation m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique mondiale d\u00e9di\u00e9 aux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames, une reconnaissance qui renforcerait son r\u00f4le de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence technique pour l&#8217;Afrique centrale.<\/p>\n<p>En accueillant cette deuxi\u00e8me formation r\u00e9gionale de haut niveau en deux ans, le Cameroun confirme son engagement en faveur de l&#8217;excellence m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique et de la coop\u00e9ration r\u00e9gionale.
