WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY 2024
On 23 March 2024, together with the Member States of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Cameroon will celebrate the 64th World Meteorological Day under the theme “On the front line of climate action”.
This year, the WMO is taking the opportunity to highlight its role at the forefront of climate action, as one of the lead agencies of the United Nations system in this field: it provides authoritative data and knowledge on weather, climate and water, contributes to adaptation measures through initiatives such as the “Early Warning for All” initiative, and participates in mitigation efforts through mechanisms such as the Global Greenhouse Gas Watch. This year’s theme also highlights the vital contribution that National Meteorological and Hydrological Services make to the safety and well-being of society.
