A huge plume of Saharan dust carried by the Harmattan from central Chad has crossed the territory via the Logone and Chari department (Far North) and will continue to move towards the North and Adamaoua regions. This phenomenon associated with moderate winds, will considerably reduce visibility and expose people to illnesses and other respiratory pathologies. The population is advised to limit outings or wear a face mask, protective eyewear, and to follow regular updates of the weather forecast.
