During the first dekad (1-10) of April, high rainfall totals are very likely along the coast, in the North West and the southern part of the Eastern region, especially in Kribi, Douala, Mundemba, Yokadouma, Bamenda and Moloundou. Parts of the East, South, Centre, Littoral and West regions are likely to receive moderate rainfall. Also, Adamaoua, most of the southern part of Central and Eastern regions are likely to receive light rains. However, Far North, North and northern part of Adamaoua region may receive cumulus less than 20mm. An effective onset of rainfall is observed over most of the southern region with normal to late rainfall predominating in the far west, normal to early in the south and southern part of eastern region and southern Adamaoua. However, the forecast categories in the northern part of Adamaoua and the North may be predominantly normal to late. In view of the heavy rains likely to accompany strong winds in the coastal regions, the Centre, the Great West and the East, the population must be vigilant to possible hydro-meteorological hazards (flooding, landslides, flash floods, etc.). In terms of health, the emergence of cases of cholera and meningitis are likely in the North and Far North regions. More in the DECADIAN CLIMATE BULLETIN N°10.
